After the Harris-Walz campaign was caught sending opposite messages to pro-Gaza and pro-Israel voters, futurists chimed in saying the future contains much more sophisticated and personalized lying.

According to Chet Flatley, a voter engagement consultant, voters are currently subjected to vague lies or just "I'm not the other jerk" kind of messaging.  In his words, this is "crude, and not too effective."

He laid out the likely future where politicians can give targeted falsehoods to each voter individually, using AI and 'big data' available from tech firms.

"Let's say you're a middle class family with kids.  I see a future where you will get targeted lies - I meant to say 'information' - about the opposition candidate's support of taking kids from their parents and locking them up in the basement of a creeper somewhere.  Your neighbor, on the other hand, is a retiree with a cat obsession.  She'll get information about the opposition's support of feline euthanasia and increasing taxes on pet food.  We will still have the ability to carpet bomb you with these messages by email, text, phone calls, mailers, and commercials on every website and television.  And of course we will, ha ha.  But instead of the generalized untruths you currently get 300 times a day, you will get 300 tailor-made lies just for you.  Won't that be great?"
